The Trainee &
Apprentice Program provides intensive training and the unique opportunity to learn from Ad Deum's extensive
experience as a professional dance company. Our programs are focused on mentoring and equipping the dance artist to serve
God and mankind in preparation and pursuit of their own unique calling. We are a community of artists, connected by our faith
in Jesus Christ, discovering and journeying together in the path of servant-artistry. We are committed to excellence in our
art form and believe in hard work, creative pursuit, passion and prayer. Being a part of Ad Deum is being a part of God's
work in the heart of the artist and His work in and through the arts.
The program consists of the following with an emphasis on Contemporary/Modern dance, Ballet,
Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Pilates, Physical Conditioning, Choreography, Ad Deum Repertoire, Performance, Academic Study of Biblical
Worldview of the Arts, Bible Study and Prayer Groups.
Who may be selected for our programs?
The program is suitable for dancers over
17 years old who have previous dance experience, particularly in ballet and modern dance. Our program offers a strong foundation
for anyone wanting to pursue a professional dance career or to use their talents effectively and with excellence in the church
or culture.

Program is also a precursor towards professional placement in Ad Deum Dance Company.

Trainee:
One who is pursuing the development of their craft and receiving instruction and mentoring under professional care and concern
for their progress and growth. Trainees receive verbal and written evaluations each quarter and are considered for Apprentice
placement.
Apprentice: One who is prepared to be taken under the wing of a mentor and further hone their craft in a close
working relationship in preparation for professional placement. You must serve as an Apprentice for at least one season before
being considered for a Company position.
Length of Program / Schedule: The program runs for 9 months -September through May,
Monday - Thursday from 8:45 am to 2 PM. There is a 2 1/2 week Christmas break and a one week spring break.
Trainee Tuition & Apprentice
Scholarship: The Trainee Program will cost $3150.00 for the nine months payable as $350 per month. tuition. Apprentices
are offered scholarships toward the program and are provided with travel, housing and meals when touring/performing with the
company.
College
Credit is possible for dancers through an agreement with Belhaven College of Jackson, MS. E-mail or call for more information
on our college credit program.
Audition Process: Auditions for placement into our various programs and company will
be comprised of a classical and modern/contemporary variation. At the time of the audition, we will need a headshot
and dance resume/biographic information, and a letter of intention or desire in applying to our work. Dancers should
be at least 17 years old and of intermediate level technique for Trainee Program and advanced level technique for Apprenticeship
Program. Auditions may be scheduled by appointment for certain dates throughout the year. Auditions are also held
during our Summer Dance Intensive Program (see website for information)
Video/DVD
Audition: Though a "live" audition is required, an initial video or DVD introduction can be submitted in
advance of your scheduled audition time. We ask that you prepare a solo performance or variation no longer than 5 minutes
in a modern/contemporary style. Also include your headshot and dance resume, plus letter of intention in desiring to
join our work and a little about your own vision for your dancing and what you are hoping to achieve through our program.
Housing in Houston:
Apartment sharing is the norm for most dancers. We are willing to help make roommate matches and suggest locations to
live.
Part Time Jobs: We encourage part time work for all dancers who move here for our programs. If
interested in dance teaching jobs, we can offer some assistance. Classes and Rehearsals are 8:45am - 2 PM, Monday. -
Thursday, so there is time for late afternoon and evening work.
